Without a doubt, one of the first makeup products that I ever used was the Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Oil Free. I’m also sure that it was probably one of yours too! I recently received a package where a giant helium balloon popped out of the box, and attached to the bottom of the string was this little gem, the new Garnier BB Cream Nude Effect*. If you haven’t heard about it before, read on to hear about this self-adjusting BB Cream.
I’m completely obsessed with Benefit Cosmetics’ Brow products and Boxed Blushes. They’re in my everyday makeup routines and have been for quite some time. But, lip products from Benefit? Hmm! Today’s post is on the new Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real Double The Lip*. To see my thoughts, keep on reading!
April was such an incredible month for me. At work, we moved into a new gorgeous office and I also went on my first holiday overseas with my boyfriend to Bali. I don’t think I wore as much makeup this month as I have in the last couple of months. But, I still found or rediscovered some gems. Here is my April Monthly Favourites 2017 post.
ESSENCE EYELID PRIMER – I LOVE COLOUR INTENSIFYING EYESHADOW BASE*
A few years ago I remember everyone raving on about Essence’s I Love Stage Eyelid Primer. For some reason, I never tried it. I’ve battled with my extremely oily eyelids for so long and I just thought that something that affordable wasn’t going to work for me. This one arrived in my PO BOX and I’m not sure if this particular one is similar to their I Love Stage one, but I still thought that it was finally time to give them a shot.
The tiniest bit of the formula goes such a long way. I dab a small dot on each eyelid and even that feels like a lot. You see the pigmentation of the base and you definitely go through the motions of ‘oh no, I’ve applied too much’. However, it blends in gorgeously and turns tacky when it’s ‘ready’. I then use a translucent powder to set the base down before applying my eyeshadows. Honestly, I really, really enjoy this eyelid primer and I find the results very comparable to my NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. If you find this product in stores, I recommend you picking it up, especially if you have oily eyelids and struggle to keep your shadows on.
GENIE LINE SMOOTHING CONCEALER*
A lovely mixed bag package containing different brands and products arrived in my hands this month. There were quite a few products from Genie Beauty and I had never heard of them before. One of the products was the Genie Line Smoothing Concealer. The very next day when I applied my makeup, I used this and was in awe. It was high coverage enough to remove all of the redness of my acne and scarring. But, it melted into my skin beautifully and blended in extremely well. It also feels light on the skin which is a great thing. I’m really happy that it is in a wind-up stick form because it’s so easy use. I just dab on all of my problem spots and blend the product in with my fingers.
BENEFIT CREAM-TO-POWDER QUICKIE CONTOUR STICK*
This was a very surprising favourite for myself. When I was putting my initial blog post together on this product here, I didn’t think that it would be for me. But, I was pleasantly surprised! After using this product throughout this month, I’ve started to really enjoy it before going in with the regular Hoola Bronzer. I find that it chisels my cheekbones beautifully and it is very easy to control.
PHILOSOPHY TOTAL MATTENESS OIL – FREE, MATTIFYING PORE ERASER*
I rediscovered this primer in April and I’m incredibly glad that I did. It leaves a tacky texture on my skin that allows my makeup to glide right over. I find that it really helps decrease the amount of oil production I have during the day and my makeup lasts longer. The only thing is that I wish it came in a larger size as I think I’m going through it too quickly!
BYS METALS EYESHADOW PALETTE*
As you would have seen in my post on the BYS Metals Eyeshadow Palette here, I was so incredibly surprised by this makeup palette. I don’t enjoy that the product looks like an Urban Decay dupe. But wow, I really appreciate the pigmentation, shade selection, wearability and pretty much everything else about this product. If you live in Australia and shrug your shoulders or walk on by when you see BYS products, you really need to give them a shot.
Have you used any of these products before?
