My January Monthly Favourites 2018 may appear quite basic upon first inspection. But, let me tell you! January hasn’t been a time of trialling and experimenting with products. I’ve stripped back a lot of my routines and have only been using essentials. I’m quite happy about this because a few times last year, I felt like I was just constantly pushing myself to try something new or on trend, and I forgot about what really mattered to me in a product. But, not this time around!
If you aren’t following me on Instagram, you would have missed a massive change. I’ve had a side fringe for the majority of my life, and something in January just made me want to slice it right off. I’m officially a part of the bangs and front fringe crew. It’s a change that I am really enjoying, except for a couple of things. I am extremely oily and wowsers does this fringe have to be washed so often!
One lifesaver for my bangs has been the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Rose Gold. If I had the opportunity, I’d freshly wash my fringe after a day of work if I was going out, but really that isn’t feasible. So, I have to opt for the next best thing. For me, it’s this. It smells amazing and it does such a great job at resuscitating my fringe.
Aside from cutting my fringe, I also added some colour. Because of this, my hair has been a little drier than usual and slightly harder to brush or remove knots. Two products that I’ve used in combination are the Schwarzkopf Professional Color Freeze Spray Conditioner* + Natura Siberica Oblephika Oil Complex For Damaged Hair*. They’re both quite a mouthful, but in combination, they’ve been great. The spray in conditioner is great at detangling my hair and the oil is heavenly. It’s so great at giving my hair a punch of moisture.
This product has been an absolute game changer. I’m really surprised that I forgot to mention it in my 2017 Beauty and Skincare Favourites, but hey, better late than never! It’s the Pixi Glow Tonic* and oh my gosh, I’m obsessed. This is a toner that you can use daily, after cleansing. I especially love using it at night and apply it to my skin with a cotton round. Ever since I started using this product, my skin has become overall more glowy and the texture has also improved remarkably. I don’t have as many breakouts and even little bumps that I used to get on my forehead are gone. I have been gifted a few of these bottles, but I know for a fact that I’ll repurchase it, and in the biggest size possible because I don’t want my skin to be without it! Stay tuned because I’ll be doing a large in-depth post about this product very shortly.
Winky Lux LIT | Becca Prosecco Pop | Becca Pamplemousse
Never really thought that makeup would be the last category in my monthly favourites, but it’s really been on the back burner for me recently because skin has been my priority! Having said that I’ve been loving the Winky Lux Strobing Balm Cream in Lit*. This product is really interesting because it’s a cream and most cream highlighters are quite thick. This one in fact, is really lightweight and a very thin cream. It glides onto the skin and the bright white colour is so lovely. I generally gravitate towards golden highlights, so this is quite an interesting favourite for me!
Becca Champagne Splits Shimmering Skin Perfector Mineral Blush Duo in Prosecco Pop and Pamplemousse*. As you can see, this product has had a lot of love and has been used quite a lot. This duo works so damn well together and I really appreciate that. A lot of the time duos, or trios have one really great shade, and the rest is quite so so. But not here! They compliment each other so beautifully and they’re just such damn beautiful shades. Honestly have no reason why I stopped using this in the first place, because now I can’t put it down.
