Too Faced Funfetti Birthday Palette

Without a doubt, the favourite beauty destination for Australian’s is Mecca. And, they’re about to turn a solid 20 years old. To celebrate, they’ve teamed up with quite a few brands and came up with some special products, that are dropping on October the 4th 2017. Today’s post is going to be a focus on one of these releases, the Too Faced Funfetti Birthday Palette*. Want to know more about this eyeshadow palette? Read on.

The Too Faced Funfetti Birthday Palette is a 12 shade eyeshadow palette that contains both matte, and shimmery shades. It will be available for $57 AUD.

If you’re a die-hard Too Faced fan, this gem might look a little familiar. Yes, although this baby is a repackaged version of their original Funfetti Palette, there’s no denying that the shadows are very appealing.

Packaging: Absolutely love it for a few reasons. I much prefer eyeshadow palettes that come in cardboard packaging than tins. Tins are so bulky, hard to travel with and quite often malfunction (or, in my experience at least). I also love how damn cute this palette is. The love heart mirror is a great touch and it also means that this palette is one you could easily take with you travelling.

Shades: I think that the shade selection is pretty good. I like that there’s some cool and warm shades, as well as a mix between shimmers and mattes. However, I’m the type of person that would never have an eyeshadow look that is completely matte. For that reason, I do kind of wish that either Feelin’ Good or Pop, Fizz, Clink!, could be swapped out for another shimmer. I’d pick something champagne or silver! The standouts in this palette, in my opinion, are Girl Gang and After Party. I find that they’re beautifully pigmented and I would reach for this palette to use these shades on their own.

VS my oily eyelids: I had no problems with these eyeshadows creasing when I used them as I normally would. This is, with an eyelid primer or cream eyeshadow, which I then set with a pressed or loose powder.

Overall quality: The majority of these shadows are really good. They blend well, look quite similar to how they appear in pan, and don’t have all that much fallout.

Definitely! The look that I see myself gravitating towards goes a little something like this:
Sequin all over my eyelids
After Party or Funfetti (lightly) on my inner corner
Forever Young to smoke it out and to define my lower lash line
Pop, Fizz, Clink! under my brow bone

  • Mecca’s the same age as me! Heheh! I think it’s so cool that brands have created LE products for Mecca though – shows how good of a relationship they have. I don’t think I’ll pick up this palette because I already have so many similar colours, but it looks like a good everyday palette!
