Pixi Beauty is a brand that is still relatively new to me. So far, I’ve found that their packaging looks quite simplistic, but their products pack a real punch. Their Pixi Hello Rose Kit* landed in my hands and I was curious to see how this adorable trio would perform.
THE KIT ITSELF
Pixi Hello Rose is designed to help brighten your makeup, with an overall rose glow. It contains a liquid illuminator, highlight and blush duo, as well as a gloss. If you purchase this product directly from the Pixi website it retails for £20.
LIQUID ILLUMINATOR – GLOW BOOSTER IN PINKPEARL
Containing vitamins A & E, the Glow Booster is marketed to help restore your skin’s youthful glow. Depending on your personal preference, you can use this product as your base or mixed in with your foundation for an overall glow. You also have the option to use this as a specific highlighter and only add it to places on your face that you want to bring forward. As I am someone who is quite oily, I definitely opted for specific placement.
The formula of this product is quite interesting. When I first squeezed it out of the tube I thought that it would be very pigmented due to it’s thick and creamy consistency. However, when I applied it and worked it into my skin, the formula became incredibly sheer. It personally really didn’t work for me on the top of my cheekbones because it ended up being too soft and subtle for what I usually like illuminators or highlighters for. I think that if you want a very pigmented rosy highlighter, this isn’t for you. If you’d like to add an overall glow but want it to be very subtle, I think you’d enjoy mixing this in with your base.
HIGHLIGHT + BLUSH – BEAUTY BLUSH DUO IN ROSE GOLD
This is definitely my favourite product of the three. The pigmentation of these shades and the smoothness of the formulas make this duo feel completely luxe. I find that both the highlighter and blush look gorgeous on the face. The highlighter actually reminds me of a combination between Prosecco and Champagne Pop by Becca Cosmetics as it’s champagne and golden. The blush looks very pigmented in the pan. However, when swatched and worn it’s quite subtle and sheer, reminding me of Benefit Cosmetics’ blushes like Coralista and Sugarbomb. I really enjoy how these two shades remind me of expensive products, but they’re very affordable.
LIP GLOSS – LIPLIFT MAX IN SHEER ROSE
Glosses are typically something that I don’t really enjoy. I always imagine hair stuck on my lips and stickiness when I speak, so I generally keep away. But, I gave it a shot.
To my surprise, the formula of this product isn’t actually very sticky. It’s very comfortable and I think that’s due to it containing aloe vera and jojoba oil. When I apply this to my lips, it becomes a lovely sheer, brown nude shade. It feels quite minty and slightly cooling. I personally can’t see my lips plumping up or anything dramatic like that, but I do think it helps them appear more voluminous in a very comfortable formula that isn’t invasive, or annoying. Comfortable/nourishing and a little bit peppy because of the peppermint.
