I admit that when you already have quite a few blushes in your collection, it can be hard to decide whether you need to add another into the mix. But, I think that there’s quite a few things about this blush that makes it special. Because of this, today’s post is going to give you 4 Reasons Why You’ll Love Benefit Cosmetics Galifornia*.
One thing that I love about Benefit is that they quite often link stories stories their products and that is exactly what they’ve done here. Galifornia is inspired by Jean and Jane Ford’s initial move to California in the 1970’s where they embraced the female empowered hippy movement. After some time, they then decided to open up a makeup boutique, and Benefit Cosmetics was born! Every single thing about this product ties back to this story and I can’t get enough of it.
As you can see, this product is beautiful on every single level. The external packaging is inspired by 1970’s California Surfer Girls and the Hippie Movement, hence the enormous glasses and free hair. Opening up, the pan itself is also incredibly beautiful. It isn’t just a pink blush. It is embossed with a sun, that literally glistens when it hits the light.
It would have been such a waste if a product as beautiful in appearance as this one didn’t smell good. Thankfully, it smells incredible. It’s a combination between passionfruit and vanilla. It is quite strong and I like it. But, if you don’t like scents in your makeup products maybe try head in store to give it a whiff before picking it up.
THE SHADE AND PIGMENTATION
I’ve definitely made you wait long enough to talk about the actual product and blush shade, my apologies. Just got way too excited about all of the other details! The shade is described by Benefit as a Sunny Golden-Pink blush. Comparing it to my other Benefit blushes, I’d definitely say that Galifornia is the most pigmented. Although ‘pink’ is how it’s described, I don’t think it’s 100% pink. Because of the gold in it, I find that it’s also peachy. It reminds me of a really amplified, more pigmented Coralista.
Galifornia | Coralista | Dandelion | Sugarbomb
Overall, I think that Galifornia is stunning. It’s going to be my absolute go to for nights out and special occasions. For everyday use, I still personally prefer something a little more natural and true coral. For that reason, I’ll probably be reaching for Coralista in the day instead. However, I definitely think that it’s a shade many of you can rock on an everyday basis. Unfortunately, I am just a little bit of scaredy cat!
If you’re looking to pick up this stunner, it is $51AUD, $29USD & £24.50.
