February was quite tough for me so you can definitely say that I am pumped to be moving onto a new month. I just felt super time poor and a little sluggish overall. But, of course I still had time to trial lots of new things and rediscover some old favourites. Today’s post is all about my February Monthly Favourites 2017.
Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo’s in Futurist* and Influencer*
No surprises here. Of course one of my favourites this month was the Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo Range. If you haven’t seen my post, make sure you check it out here. These lip crayons are seriously extremely delicate, sheer and melt into the lips. The colour range is ridiculous in the best way possible. My two current favourites are Futurist and Influencer. But, I honestly love the majority of the shades. I’m definitely impressed by this range and I think you have to walk into Mecca Maxima and see the quality for yourself.
Kiehl’s Blemish Control Daily Skin Clearing Treatment*
I’ve had this product sitting under my bathroom sink for a few months now. I was quite happy with my skincare routine. But, my skin decided to play up a bit because of the stress I was feeling. I thought it would be a great time to try something that was focused on clearing up skin, but was gentle enough to hopefully not cause more havoc. Great decision because I’ve really been enjoying this product! Honestly, I haven’t really read the instructions on how this product should be used. I get a generous amount and swipe it all over my face, focusing on my extreme problem areas a couple times a week before I sleep. When I wake up, it’s like my pimples have slightly deflated and have calmed down.
Becca Matte Skin Shine Proof Foundation in Olive*
This is definitely a new arrival into my life and a late February discovery. But, it’s a keeper. If you saw my Oily Skin Makeup Products from Adore Beauty Post you would have heard me rave about this foundation. I still want to do a full post on it, so that will come your way in March. For now, if you have oily skin and you have somewhere that sells this foundation near you, please go in store and check it out. It’s one of the most natural medium coverage, yet mattifying and light weight feeling foundations I’ve tried in years. I can’t recommend it enough.
Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki
Wow, talk about a FLASHBACK here. This brush was my jam when I first started properly getting into makeup. Everyone had it and everyone surely loved it. Then the trend became beauty sponges and since that day, I have barely reached for this guy. This all changed though when I started using the Becca foundation I just mentioned. That foundation just wasn’t working with a sponge. For me, it kept setting too quickly and it wouldn’t blend in. This brush fixed everything and it really helped me move the product around my face evenly. The foundation then also blended like a dream. I really missed this brush and I’m glad to have rediscovered it. I’m definitely going to try using it with other foundations now.
Klorane Dry Shampoo With Nettle*
In my January Monthly Favourites 2017 I mentioned the Klorane Nettle Shampoo. I fell in love with it towards the end of last year and I made a promise to myself that I’d give the dry shampoo another go. I’m really glad that I did because as suspected, I’ve now somehow miraculously been able to get away with not washing my hair every single day. If I have the time, I still feel comfortable giving it a good old wash. But, on lazier days, this has been working a treat! Unlike other Dry Shampoo’s that I’ve tried, this one actually helps with oil control and makes it look refreshed. It doesn’t leave any weird white cast on my scalp and the smell isn’t offensive. This is on my pick up list next time Priceline has a good haircare sale.
