The Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette* is making a return. After being highly sought after and sold out much too quickly, Mecca Maxima is re-releasing this beautiful palette on the 31st of January.
It was a complete surprise to receive this baby in the mail and what makes it even more exciting is that this is my very first Too Faced eyeshadow palette. Don’t get me wrong, the chocolate palettes look ever so gorgeous but I already own so many neutral colours that I’ve forced myself to say no! On the other hand, Sweet Peach did tickle my fancy. But, like many others, I was just that little bit too slow.
The Sweet Peach Palette contains 18 gorgeous shades and the packaging reminds me a lot of the UD Naked Palettes, but with a magnetic closure. The shades are a great mix of neutrals as well as a few different type of shades that I usually wouldn’t reach for. Look, I’m pretty basic so anything that isn’t bone coloured, silver, black or brown is considered as different for me.
White Peach | Luscious | Just Peachy | Bless Her Heart | Tempting | Charmed I’m Sure
Nectar | Cobbler | Candied Peach | Bellini | Peach Pitt | Delectable
Peaches and Cream | Georgia | Carmalized | Puree | Summer Yum | Talk Derby To Me
Luscious | Just Peachy | Nectar | Bellini | Carmalized
As you could guess by the name, a lot of the shades in this palette have something a little peachy to them. Or, they’re the type of shades that really compliment peachy tones. This makes the palette a great all in one and I feel pretty confident in saying you could take this travelling, and not need anything else if you’re planning on not wearing anything too dramatic. However, if you are someone that likes to really smoke it out, I’d probably suggest bringing a darker matte or black matte shade with you.
I absolutely love the formula of the majority of these shades. In particular, Luscious, Just Peachy, Nectar, Bellini and Carmalized, which are my favourites. They’re all gorgeous shades that I don’t commonly reach for and I find them to be super smooth and pigmented. Most of the other shades are also great but I do find that Charmed I’m Sure, Delectable and Talk Derby To Me aren’t as pigmented as the rest, especially during swatching. However, when using Delectable for eye looks, I found that it worked very well. Also, sadly Georgia is a little too light for my skin. Overall though I am still very happy with the palettes pigmentation as a whole.
An eye primer is definitely a good idea for these shadows if you have oily eyelids or if you want these to last all day. If you really want to get 100% pigmentation, I’d suggest using your finger to pack the colour on the lids. When applying these shadows, just be a little careful because some matte shades are very delicate. For example, Candied Peach has a tiny bit of fallout, because the formula is so soft.
