Today’s post is where I welcome Three Additions To My Becca Highlighter Collection. I received these three gorgeous Shimmering Skin Perfectors and knew I had to share them with you all straight away.
Moonstone, Rose Gold, Bronzed Amber
Becca Cosmetics is a brand that I honestly think dominate the highlighter realm. Whenever I seem to ask anyone ‘what highlighter are you wearing,’ it seems that 9/10 it’s Becca. There has never been a shade that I haven’t liked and yeah, you are paying a little bit extra for something of such quality. But come on now! They seriously last you almost a lifetime. My go to is Opal and I use it the majority of the time. I am in no way about to hit pan!
Some of these three new Shimmering Skin Perfectors have different uses and they don’t just have to be used as a straight up highlighter. I’ll go into that within the individual shades. Overall, I usually used my tapered Sigma Highlighter brush in F35 and sweep the highlighters onto the tops of my cheeks. Most of the time I’ll even place a liquid or cream highlighter underneath for that extra bit of dewy goodness.
Moonstone* and I have actually met before. But, I’ve only ever tried the liquid formula. To be completely honest with you, I’m not the biggest fan of the pump that is on the liquid Shimmering Skin Perfectors. I feel like it dispenses a little too much for my personal use. As I said, I only like to use a little bit of a highlighter on the tops of my cheeks. Having said that, if you’re someone who has dry skin or loves to mix in their highlighters with their foundations, you might actually like the liquid formula!
Anyway, talking about the one that is actually the main part of this post, the pressed formula of Moonstone! I absolutely love it. I no longer have to feel like I’m using too much product. To compare Moonstone with Opal, I feel that Moonstone is less pink and is closer to a yellow, light golden highlight, with still a lot of pigment. Out of the three shades, this is probably the one that I’ll gravitate more towards as it’s something I’d feel comfortable rocking easily for work or a casual day out.
First impressions wise, I was a little worried that Rose Gold* and Bronzed Amber* wouldn’t be wearable or shades that would suit my skin. But, they really surprised me!
Rose Gold is quite shimmery and gives the skin a golden, pink glow. Bronzed Amber is more pigmented but less shimmery and provides a bronze, orange glow. They’re both stunning and can be quite natural on the skin depending on how heavily or light you apply them.
After looking on the Becca website, I found out that Bronzed Amber is inspired by Becca’s Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector and Wild Honey Blush. Of course! I find that this makes so much sense as to why it’s such a gorgeously natural shade. It isn’t as ‘shimmering’ as other Shimmering Skin Perfectors I’ve used and the formula feels even that little bit thinner or softer. I’ve really enjoyed using Bronzed Amber lightly on my cheeks and then I take it up slightly higher for my actual highlight. On days where I’m feeling extra fancy, I’ll even use this on my eyelids as an eyeshadow, then pop a contour shade in my crease.
I hope you enjoyed my little welcome to the family for these three Becca Highlighters! Please let me know if you’d like me to do a post on my entire Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector collection (I’d absolutely love to).
