My 2017 Goals and Resolutions

One thing that I have really been enjoying so far is reading blogging and personal goals. It has really inspired me to think a little more about what I want to get out of this year. So, here are My 2017 Goals and Resolutions. Most of them are blogging related, but there’s also a couple personal ones thrown in the mix too.

My 2017 Goals And Resolutions

If you haven’t been following me for very long, here’s a little background information. I actually started up on Blogger and decided to migrate to self-hosted WordPress around October 2016. I’m finally at the stage where I get to around the same monthly views since the migration, which is great! But, of course, I’d love to boost it. I hope that I can get to the stage where I get around 30% more views on average a month.

In 2016 I really enjoyed making tips and talks posts like Five Steps For The Perfect Flatlay and Four Tips For Beauty Bloggers. I would absolutely love it if you could let me know if there was anything you’d like a post on. I really had fun putting these posts together, and you guys seemed to like them to!

My current follower count is somewhere around 500. It was a pretty slow growth but during one stage of 2016, it went up pretty quickly. I’m still not entirely sure what caused it, but I’d love to get it moving again. I want to try and look into how to increase my Bloglovin’ followers and find out what’s making people leave.

I’m someone who is naturally very organised and having a cluttered inbox is one of my biggest hates. Through the majority of 2016, I was so good when it came to replying to emails. Unfortunately, towards the end of the year, I really slacked off. I think working in social media / digital marketing by day, once I’m home I just hate checking my emails. It’s something that I need to get more into the habit of, 100%!

Okay, if you don’t know what a bullet journal is, GO WATCH A VIDEO RIGHT NOW. They’re honestly the best thing ever invented if you’re someone that loves organisation. You essentially buy an empty ‘diary’ and you fill it up how you’d like it. You draw up your calendar, you section off an area for your daily diary, notes etc. I fell in deep around August last year and stuck with it pretty consistently until around November. Then, I got too busy and kinda swept it under the rug. This year, I want to make sure I use it every day. I know that sounds like a big commitment but honestly a couple minutes here and there is all it takes. I have to do it! And, I want to make sure that my bullet journal looks a little prettier than it did last year too.

One of my personal goals this year is to become fitter. I don’t mean to get fit just because of weight, but actual physical strength. I feel like I find some basic tasks quite difficult. To others, it’s quite funny, but I honestly wish I could do more on my own without asking (even opening bottles or unscrewing caps haha).

I’ve left this one to last because I want it to stick! I think I included this somewhere on my blog as a goal last year, woops. But to be honest I didn’t really try that hard until the end of the year. Around October, I started getting regular lessons and I now think that it’ll happen in the first half of 2017 – so watch this space!

What are some of your goals or resolutions for this year?
Did you achieve a lot of what you set out to do in 2016?

  • I decided to start a bullet journal this year! I always saw them on Instagram and thought they looked soo pretty but then I was like, I’m so lazy, I’m not going to be able to commit to drawing up my own diary every week (plus I won’t be able to make it super pretty). But anyway, this year I couldn’t be bothered to go buy a diary and had an empty notebook lying around so…let’s see how I go! Haha 😛 Good luck on getting your license! I believe in you!

    • Thanks Tasha!! I believe in myself too ;P! & Oooo you’ll get hooked trust me! It gets really addictive haha. And, I’m a lefty with TERRIBLE hand writing. But, I still try my best to make it look good-ish ! x

  • So many goals in common ha! I really want to increase my page views as well, so I have been working hard on the promo side rather than the writing side as I already have a good backlog to work off.

I’d also love to increase my Bloglovin followers, mine have been slow going over the last two years but over the last few months they have been steadily increasing so here’s hoping! I find photography the biggest draw card to grab attention on Bloglovin, rather than corresponding to other social media metrics. For example, some of my favourite bloggers who do well on Bloglovin (3k followers+) have quite low social media numbers which I find interesting, but I don’t quite understand myself!

I need to get my license as well, I’ve been putting it off for years.

    • Hahah goal twinsies!! Hopefully we both kill it this year and reach our goals, or even exceed them ;P! I’ve noticed that too about high bloglovin and a smalller social following! If I find out any tips I’ll share them with you girl x

  • Awesome goals kat! I believe in you! I can help you with the strength part! I will come to Melbs and put you through a few sessions!! <3

  • Those are some great goals! I am definitely planning on getting stronger and more fit this year as well. I hope I can increase my blog page views as well but I am not going to focus too much on this and rather just try to make good content and hope the pageviews follow, but if they don’t at the end of the day I still view my blog as a hobby. I have no idea really how to gain Bloglovin’ followers. I saw a big increase in 2016 (no idea why) and now it’s been pretty slow and steady. Hope you can achieve all of these lovely! I’m sure you can you are a very capable lady. I also ditched my Bujo (shame) and am using a minimal journal from May Designs I have been loving.

    • That’s such a good way of thinking 🙂 Definitely what I want to do too! Focus on improving the content and crossing fingers for the rest haha! Thanks girl, I hope you achieve yours too! && Nooo so sad to hear about your Bujo, but glad you’ve found something that works 🙂 x

These are very lovely goals. I definitely have many for my blog. I want to be more consistent, especially once uni starts up again because that’s when i struggle to be on point with blogging. Even though i have many many many pre written blog posts (161 atm) I feel like blogging is more than just writing and photographing the to do list for blogging is never ending hahah. So i hope to still write at least 4 posts a week during the semester and upload twice a week as well as be better on social media.

    • 161 Pre Written Blog Posts!? That’s insaaane wowee! The most I ever have are maybe 20 haha! But I end up deleting a lot of them because I’m unhappy with them. 4 Posts a week is an amazing commitment! Wishing you all the luck x
