My favourites usually contain at least one thing that I used to love a long time ago. But this time, nope! There are absolutely no repeats in my January Monthly Favourites 2017, which I think is quite exciting.
Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector in Bronzed Amber* only entered my life a few weeks ago. But, I’ve been hooked basically every day since. With no exaggerations to the story at all, the very first day I wore it, I received a compliment. If that honestly isn’t a sign from the highlighter Gods, please tell me what is! In my Three Additions To My Becca Highlighter Collection blog post, I mentioned that I thought Bronzed Amber would be a little too much. It didn’t really look like something that would work for my skin. I was completely wrong because this particular shade looks more natural on my skin, whilst still being a very noticeable highlight. Bronzed Amber is going to remain a favourite for quite some time and I definitely suggest you checking it out!
Bare Minerals GEN Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick in BO$$* had to be included in my January favourites. If you haven’t seen my post on the new Bare Minerals releases, please click here and do yourself a favour. These Matte Liquid Lipsticks are by far the smoothest and most comfortable that I’ve ever used. This particular shade is perfect for my skin tone and it’s so easy to reapply.
The Obagi Gentle Cleanser* has been sitting under my bathroom sink for probably around 4 months. Don’t ask me why I didn’t try this earlier, because I can’t answer. But, I feel really silly for letting it collect dust for so long! This cleanser is exactly what it says, super gentle. My skin has gone weirdly very dry and I need something that isn’t as drying. I’ve been loving this cleanser morning and night.
By far the biggest game changer of all in this post is the Obagi Vitamin C Serum 10*. I’m not your go-to blog when it comes to knowing all the technicalities and benefits of ingredients, so you can read about all of those things somewhere else. What I can say is that since I’ve started using this serum, I’ve seen the biggest improvement of my acne scars and pigmentation, ever. Now, I was gifted this product and it is quite expensive to purchase, but I am 100% going to buy it when I run out. It’s one of those products that you can’t stop using because it delivers results and so quickly. My skin was so red and inflamed towards the end of 2016 and since using this, you can barely tell that it had such a tough time.
The last product that I’m mentioning today is the Klorane Nettle Shampoo. When I first received this product as a PR sample, I honestly wasn’t that sure about it. I used it a little bit and thought ‘wow the consistency is watery’ because I was used to thick, lathering shampoos. Over time though, I learnt that this was exactly the shampoo that I needed in my life. It’s super gentle, removes a little bit of oil and keeps my hair feeling fresh. After finishing my first bottle, I instantly repurchased it because it’s one of the only things that has ever helped control my oily scalp. I’m someone that has to wash my hair every day and I am doing my best to stop. This really helps. I think that after another month or so I’ll probably be able to step my hair washing routine down to every second day. If you have oily hair, you’ll love this product. I’m going to keep using their Nettle Dry Shampoo as well to see if that helps too.
