BY TERRY Rouge Expert Click Stick Review

The new year has officially arrived and I wanted to start it off on the right foot. One of my makeup resolutions for 2017 is to try more makeup brands and that’s what I’m doing! Today’s post is going to be a BY TERRY Rouge Expert Click Stick Review*.

If you haven’t heard of BY TERRY before, they are a brand created by the French makeup artist Terry De Gunzburg. For 15 years, Terry was the International Creative Director at Yves Saint Laurent. The main concepts behind BY TERRY are luxury, high performing formulas and innovative packaging. There is also a large focus on maintaining youthful skin.

BY TERRY Rouge Expert Click Sticks are a three in one product, designed for easiness. They are a hybrid between a balm, pencil and lipstick. As you can see from the shape of the product, the applicator itself is quite narrow, allowing for precise application and control.

Following one of their brand concepts, the click sticks have that little bit of something special when it comes to their packaging. Instead of winding the packaging to dispense product, there’s a little button on the bottom. Whenever the button is pressed, more of the lipstick is dispersed. I must admit though this makes me a little scared about travelling with these click sticks. I’m worried if something touches them in the packaging, I’ll end up with the lipstick squishing! Hopefully not, but just a little concern.

In terms of shade selection, there are 25 colours available at Mecca and they retail for $51AUD each. I received the two shades Flamingo Kiss and Rouge Initiation. Flamingo Kiss looks like it would be a very bright pink, but it’s actually a little muted when you apply it. It’s lovely because it gives a great pop of colour without being too bold. Rouge Initiation is a lovely bright red shade with a hint of orange and is personally my favourite of the two.

Overall, both shades applied very smoothly and have a velvet cream finish. They have the lasting power of a regular lipstick which means that they do need to be reapplied throughout the day. I love the smaller applicator because I’m quite lazy when it comes to lips and I love how fast this is. I recommend these products to anyone that likes experiemental packaging, quick lip application and anything luxe.
