How To Restart Your Skin In 2017

Towards the end of the year, there’s no doubt that we all become way too busy and probably spend a little too long outside in the sun. As a result, our skin can dry out, acts up or just needs some love. As a note to self to pick up my skincare game again and to help you out, I thought I would come up with this post all about How To Restart Your Skin In 2017.

How To Restart Your Skin In 2017

Clean your skin out
There would be no point in hydrating and trying to fix your skin up if you haven’t emptied it previously of all the gunk! The number one product that I can suggest is the L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Charcoal Mask*. Now, if you missed my post on all of the new L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Masks, click here. But overall, the charcoal one has been my go to. I apply this mask to either my whole face or just around my trouble areas such as my nose and t zone. 10-15 minutes later, I wash it off and my skin has been left super smooth. My pores and blackheads seem to almost completely vanish and the results actually last. If you don’t have this particular mask, I’d suggest using blackhead strips or other masks that you have to help remove impurities.

Add back some moisturise
When it comes to the face, there are a few products that I love using for added moisture. Every single night I use the Rosehip Plus Rosehip Oil*. When my face is still a little bit wet from my toner, I apply this oil and really massage it in. It helps add moisture while also doing other great things like reducing redness.

Once and a while when I need that extra bit of moisture, I reach for my favourite product in this post which is of course the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask. Honestly, how many times do I have to mention this mask on my blog until you go and buy it? Nothing moisturises my skin as well! I leave this mask on my face for 10-15 minutes, but at this time of year to give a refresh I sleep with it on. Why is it so good? Well, manuka honey full stop!

Moving onto hands, you can’t go passed a great hand cream. We use our hands all the damn time and don’t even notice it. At the end of last year, we also put them through wrapping loads of presents! Don’t forget them. I’m loving the BY TERRY Baume De Rose Hand Cream* at the moment. Don’t worry, I’ll have a full review on this baby and other Baume De Rose goodies that are launching into Mecca at the end of this month, very very soon. All you need to know for now is that this stuff is magical. It’s thick, moisturises my hands very well, but isn’t sticky and things don’t slip out of my fingertips.

Last but not least, how could I forget a body lotion!? My favourite of all time is still the Jergens Ultra Healing Moisturiser. I’ve repurchased it so many times now and will probably continue to do so. Out of every moisturiser that I own, this is the only one that truly sinks in straight away. I get hydration without stickiness and that is honestly my moisturiser goal in life. It also smells amazing and it’s quite affordable too.

There you have it! These are all of the products that I’ve been trying really hard to use at the start of this year to prepare my skin for the rest of the year to come. I hope this has inspired you to keep taking care of your skin and body.

How are you preparing your skin for the year ahead?
