Bare Minerals has slowly become one of my favourite makeup brands. I haven’t tried too many products from them, but basically, everything that I have, has turned into an absolute holy grail. January the 31st is a super exciting date because Bare Minerals Gen Nude Range is launching in Mecca Maxima. I’ve received a few goodies and I thought I’d pop them into a post for you.
The Bare Minerals Gen Nude range hopefully has something for everyone. The shades are grouped into the four colour families of beige, peach, pink and mauve. My personal favourite shade groups are definitely mauve and beige. Out of these four shade families, there are four releases in this range. There’s a lipstick, matte liquid lip, gloss and lip liner. Again, something for everyone.
Baby | Kitty | Sexpot
Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick – $28 AUD
This extremely creamy and moisturising lipstick comes in 20 shades. Providing a medium coverage, these lipsticks give a lovely shine to the lips without being too much. I find these lipsticks to be some of the smoothest that I’ve ever used. I also think that the price point is incredible. I received three shades in Baby, Kitty and Sexpot. Unfortunately, I don’t think that any of these shades are the ideal nudes for me. But, they’re gorgeous none the less!
Liquids – Infamous (Matte), Boss (Matte), Slay (Matte), Sugar (Gloss), Tantalize (Gloss), Cosmic (Gloss)
Gen Nude Matte Liquid Colour – $26 AUD
For someone who only got on the liquid lipstick bandwagon in late 2016, I can definitely say that this range is my favourite of the bunch. For point of comparison, I’d say that the formula feels a lot like NYX Lip Lingeries on the lips, but is slightly more moisturising and soft. In terms of longevity, they’re not the type of liquid lipstick that stays put all day or after meals, but they do fade gracefully. You won’t have any patchiness with these and you can easily top them up without looking in a mirror. BO$$ is my absolute favourite and I think if you have a medium skin tone, you’d loooove it. I highly recommend heading in store to see how beautifully these swatch and to experiment with the 20 available shades.
Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss – $26 AUD
There is two things about these lipglosses that I quite like. They look like they’ll be shiny, but they’re not. And, they give your lips a slightly plumped appearance, without a tingle. Does that sound too good to be true? Well, it isn’t! These lipglosses are available in 15 shades and I really love the applicator. I never find myself gravitating towards glosses usually. But, these ones are very moisturising and comfortable on my lips. My favourite shade that I have is Sugar, but I’m dying to try Flirt.
Freestyle | Borderline | Vibe
Gen Nude Under Over Lip Liner – $23 AUD
Last up, we have the Lip Liner’s of the range which is available in 5 shades. I feel like I always leave lip liners to the end but I guess that’s just because I don’t find myself using them very often. What I’m about to say though is quite surprising. Out of all the products in the post except for the BO$$ Matte Liquid Colour, one of these lip liner’s is my next favourite. Could you take a guess? Probably because I’m a creature of habit! Of course, it’s Vibe! The formula of these lip liners is velvet smooth and I’d definitely use Vibe on my lips by itself.
If I was to suggest one product of the four, I’d definitely say please try out the Matte Liquid Colour! The formula is so comfortable and they wear so beautifully. Even if you haven’t enjoyed matte liquid lip products before, I think this type of product will convert you.
What’s your favourite shade of the bunch?
