Oily skin is something that many of us have a daily battle with. I’m not sure about you, but there’s plenty of products that I’ve been told should work for my skin. But, they don’t. After using an abundance of various products made for ‘oily skin’ I have finally come up with this list. Behold, The Best Makeup For Oily Skin.
Maybelline Master Fix Spray* was a product that really surprised me. It doesn’t have the prettiest packaging or the nicest scent, but I have used many other fixing, setting or mattifying sprays and this one takes the cake. On days where I really want my makeup to stay put, I spray this product after applying my base and then once again after my entire look is finished. For my full review and demo, click here.
YSL Fusion Ink Foundation* has been a life saver for me. Whenever I want my skin to look airbrushed and have a long lasting matte finish, this is it. A super thin liquid, this foundation literally hides every single one of my imperfections and doesn’t make me oily. I can actually leave the house with the confidence that this foundation isn’t going to need to be set for at least six hours, even on warm days. My particular shade is BR50 and although this foundation is mighty costly, it’s worth every cent and I can’t imagine myself not repurchasing it.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer – Pore Minimizing is a product that I only discovered a couple weeks ago. I picked up a small sample at Mecca after my two blogging friends Ash & Angie suggested it. Straight after my first use, I knew it was for me. The primer feels like a regular silicone primer, but when you rub it into the skin, it actually turns into a powder. I know that sounds weird for a primer, but you need to have a little faith in it. One day when I was in Mecca, a sales assistant also told me that you’re able to place it under and on top of foundation for that extra bit of a mattifying / pore filling effect. One thing I will say though, is if you have large pores but fairly dry skin, I don’t think that it’s for you because it can cling to dry patches.
NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base is relatively new to my life but I’ve already mentioned it quite a few times because I’m in love. Essentially, this is the one and only eyeshadow base that doesn’t crease my eyeshadow. It also helps amplify the colours that I place down.
Nude by Nature Mineral Finishing Veil is the one product out of this bunch that has been with me since day dot. Since the dawn of time, there has only ever been this loose powder and one other. I’ve stuck with this particular product because it works so amazing with my skin and I’ve never had the reason to change. This doesn’t keep me entirely matte throughout the day but it’s the type of product that you can continously layer up and you never look cakey. It never provides me with a white cast or makes my skin conjested.
