Love at first site for makeup and nail polish is definitely a thing. How do I know? Well, I read Emma‘s post about The Nail Lab Edna which is the gorgeous purple shade you see in this post. I saw it, fell in love and knew that it had to be mine. I ended up getting my hands on four shades and thought that it would be the perfect time to write An Introduction To The Nail Lab.
For those of you who previously haven’t heard of The Nail Lab, they are a nail salon located in Sydney. They have recently begun making nail polishes.
Now, for reference please know that I am definitely not an expert when it comes to manicures. Infact, I’m seriously basic and I love tricking people into thinking I actually take a great deal of time with my nails. My current routine consists of clipping, filing and smacking on a polish. If I’m feeling somewhat fancy, I’ll chuck on a treatment or oil.
Then we get to the fun part where I actually paint my nails. I tried all four shades that I received from the Nail Lab and they applied beautifully. If you’re in a rush, you can definitely get away with two coats, or maybe even one generous coat. For reference, each nail polish comes with 15ml of product.
These are the four shades that I received. Apologies for the poor descriptions, I’m terrible with colour shades.
- Audrey: a light minty, pastel green
- Edna: my absolute favourite, light but bright violet pastel purple
- Elaine: pastel pumpkin
- Madge: a light pastel banana colour
In my opinion, I think that the brush is okay. It’s nothing extra ordinary and I personally prefer something that is a little wider so that more of my nail can be covered in one easy swipe. Luckily, the formula is amazing so nothing weird happens if you accidentally go over the same section of the nail in one layer.
Longevity wise, I can get very close to one week just before I encounter a bit of flaking or chipping.
