One trend that I haven’t seen for quite a while in the drugstore is multi purpose palettes. Say hello to the recently released Revlon Eyes, Cheeks and Lip Palette.
Beginning with the packaging, I love how simple yet effective it is. You see all of the shades then and there and the black just helps make it look a little more luxe. I’m also a sucker for the cute ‘Eyes, Cheeks + Lips’ font.
Opening up, you get a little mirror up the top. The first six shades are eyeshadows, the bottom middle shade is a blush, with two lipsticks on the left and two lip glosses on the right. You do get a few small brushes included, but I just skip over those.
Before I get into quality, I’ll address the price because they generally go hand in hand. Each of these palettes retail for $34.95. Now for a Priceline standard, that’s pretty pricey.
So now into quality! The lipsticks are great. They all feel really smooth, moisturising and are fairly buildable. I also think that the glosses are quite nice and they aren’t very sticky.
The blushes look gorgeous and they swatch very smoothly, however for my skintone I think they’re a little too light. I think if you have a lighter skin tone than myself, they’d give you a nice natural flush on the cheeks.
Ah, the eyeshadows. I think that the range selection across the three palettes is really good and in each of the palettes there’s also a nice variety. Quality wise, some are hits while others are misses. I wish I could love them all because some of them (especially in the 200 palette) are really smooth and are quite different to shades I’ve used before. But a couple are a little flakey.
Out of the three palettes, my personal favourite is 200. I think the eyeshadows are the most pigmented in this palette and I’m a sucker for the first lipstick in it too.
Who are these for? I think if you were after a light to medium type of makeup look, you’d really enjoy these palettes.
I would also 100% recommend these to beginners. You get 6 decent eyeshadows, a couple lip colours and a cheek colour to play with, in one little palette. It’s also great for people who like to travel and want no fuss while they’re away, because it does have a teeny little mirror on the inside of the lid too.
What do you think of these palettes?
Will you be picking any of these three up?
