It must be getting tough for Maybelline. I mean, how can they keep improving their lip range when it’s already just that good. I feel like everything I use on my lips from Maybelline is incredible.
Whether it be Babylips, Color Sensational and now Color Blur.

To me, this product does sound pretty unique, especially to the drugstore. Essentially, you wind up the tube and apply the product on your lips. It’s called a pencil, but it feels like a crayon. The second side is a sponge, which you obviously smudge the product with. The idea behind this is that you can ‘blur’ the lines of your lip product so you can mix many colours together to create a ombre look. Or, you can just use one colour to create a more natural look.
Because this product is labelled as a Matte Pencil, you might be a little worried. Don’t worry, I was too. The idea of a Matte Pencil made me think that this product would be incredibly drying. Wrong! Like I said, it’s more of a crayon so imagine a really smooth, matte, lip crayon and this is what you get.
As you can see from the swatches, the pigmentation is out of this world. I only applied the smallest amount of pressure to do these swatches as well, so imagine how beautifully they’d be if I applied more pressure. When I was invited to L’Oreal HQ, this product had all of us going oo-ahhh because it was just that pretty to play with.
If you’re someone who loves a quick, easy, matte lip look, you’ll adore these!
