Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation

I’m sure that we all know that good makeup starts with a great base. Having oily skin, this is definitely a challenge. For example, I tried the regular Maybelline Fit Me Foundation a few years ago, and it really didn’t work for my skin type. It felt quite heavy and moved around a little too much. When I found a few shades of the new Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless Foundation* in a goodie box from Maybelline recently, I was excited to try this variant out. I wanted to put them to trial and let you all know how it went.

PACKAGING

There’s nothing extraordinary here. The foundation looks like a duplicate of the original Fit Me Foundation. Although, there are hints of a lovely green shade. Sadly, there isn’t a pump which makes this foundation a little hard to use, especially when you’re in a rush. Side note. If anyone knows a pump that could fit perfectly with this foundation, please let me know so I can try it out.

APPLICATION

No surprises here at all, I’m using my Beauty Blender. I dot the foundation all over my face and blend it into my skin with small bounces. The coverage I prefer is medium, and that’s what I got with this foundation. As you can see, the foundation covers up the majority of my cystic acne and redness. However, you can still see that it’s definitely there. This might not be everyone’s cup of tea because they want full coverage. But, my acne is something that I accept and feel relatively comfortable with. I’m happy if I can remove the redness and some of the puffiness.

MY SHADE

The particular colour I used is number 220 Natural Beige. As you can see from the above photo, it is an absolute perfect match! Look at dat neckline vs face – no difference. The foundation feels smooth to touch and not sticky. I also find that it doesn’t transfer easily or move about when I apply product on top. It is matte, however it isn’t drying. Although I am oily skinned, I think that this would work very well on a normal skin type. Even if you had dry skin, with a good moisturiser it’s definitely achievable. Maybe just not if you have quite a few dry patches (thank you winter). In terms of ‘poreless’, my pores are still there of course, but they are significantly reduced.

THE FOUNDATION’S ‘FEEL’ + SKIN TYPE COMPARISON

In regards to longevity, I haven’t tried this foundation for a solid crazy amount of hours. I have however put it to good use for a couple 5 to 8 hour days and I am very impressed. My skin actually decided to let this foundation stay on my face and relatively gracefully. I did have some oiliness on and around my nose, but compared to most foundations that I’ve tried, this one is definitely up there.
